Thank You From Pedatric Medical Centerby Peter W. Welty, M.D., F.A.A.P.
September 5, 2005
Most of the families we serve at Pediatric Medical Center are aware that a devastating fire burned our office early in the morning on August 9, 2005.
It is true that a tragedy brings out the very best in people. All of the doctors and staff at Pediatric Medical Center want to thank the Long Beach community for their concern and help during the past few weeks. Thanks to the pediatricians at Columbia Pediatrics for letting us see our patients in their office less than twelve hours after the fire. And thanks to Dr. Eli Nussbaum for offering his office at 1760 Termino Avenue less than twenty-four hours after the fire. Our staff also thanks you for the food, soft drinks and boxes being brought to our office the morning after the fire. We have seen flowers and dinners; we have received concerned phone calls, tears, and hugs! It is so gratifying for us to realize the importance and history of Pediatric Medical Center. The generosity of our community has been overwhelming and humbling to all of us.
Although we lost a great deal, most of the medical records are now being restored. We are working with our insurance companies to rebuild our office, and those plans are already underway. As you know, we are now in our temporary office. We will be moving to a somewhat larger office across the street at:
Pediatric Medical Center
Cawrey Community Medical Center Building
1703 Termino Avenue, Suite 102
Long Beach, CA 90804
Phone: 562) 426-5551
Fax: 562) 933-6939
We appreciate your good humor and patience as we reorganize and rebuild Pediatric Medical Center. Thank you for staying with us. This tragedy only reminds us all how grateful we are to be serving this Long Beach community.

WHERE IS MY MOMMY?
by Mary Kilgore, MSW Mitchell Kilgore, MSW
How do young children cope when a parent leaves? Doesn't she love me anymore? Is she lost? Was it my fault? This 32 page booklet is a valuable tool designed to understand and aid the grieving child.
SOMETHING IS WRONG AT MY HOUSE

y Diane Davis
The subject matter is parents fighting. Do they have any idea how destructive this behavior is on their children? And, what is a kid suppose to do about it?
Both booklets are written for the 3 to 10 year olds.
