SAFETY OF VACCINES USED FOR ROUTINE IMMUNIZATION OF US CHILDREN: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Margaret A. Maglione, MPP, Lopamudra Das, MPH, Laura Raaen, MPH, Alexandria Smith, MPH, Ramya Chari PhD, Sydne Newberry, PhD, Roberta Shanman, MLS, Tanja Perry BHM, Matthew Bidwell Goetz, MD and Courtney Gidengil, MD, MPH, PEDIATRICS, vol 134, N. 2, Aug 2014, pg 325

Here is a marvelous review article of the safety of DTaP, Hib, HepA,  HepB, IPV, flu, MMR, Meningococcal, PCV13, Rotavirus and Varicella vaccines.

If you believe vaccines are dangerous and not necessary, please read this article. Make decisions on these important topics with your brain, not your heart.

The world demands that physicians must practice evidence-based medicine—rightly so! In the same breathe, I feel that pediatricians should expect parenting based on sound researched evidence—not individual opinions based on feelings or incomplete data collection.

PARENTAL SMOKING DURING PREGNANCY AND ADHD IN CHILDREN: THE DANISH NATIONAL BIRTH COHORT

Jin Liang Zhu, PhD, Jorn Olsen, M.D. PhD, Zeyan Liew, MPH, Jiong Li, MD, PhD, Janni Niclasen, MSc, PhD, and Carsten Obel, MD, PhD, PEDIATRICS, vol  134, N. 2, Aug. 2014, pg 382

This abstract shows that there is a questionable causal link between maternal prenatal smoking and ADHD in the offspring. I am only trying to put an end to another myth regarding causation of ADHD. Let me go on record as saying “No one should ever smoke!”
